Yong Siew Onn
DIRECTOR
Being sustainable makes sense. Beyond just an environmental initiative, I believe sustainability is about doing the right things to improve building design and save our limited resources.
Yong Siew Onn has been practicing Green Design since 2009. A Certified BCA-SGBC Green Mark Advanced Accredited Professional, GHG Accounting Lead Verifier, Living Future AP, EDGE Expert, TRUE Advisor, WELL AP, LEED AP (BD+C), SmartScore AP (Office) and WiredScore AP (Office), he believes that Sustainability is more than just an environmental initiative; it is about decarbonisation towards net zero for operational and embodied carbon gradually evolving toward regeneration where buildings contribute positively to ecosystems and communities.
Applying his knowledge and experience in integration of both architectural and engineering systems for high performance and low carbon buildings design, he leads DP Sustainable Design to develop and deliver pragmatic, green and carbon efficient building that reflects the functional needs of the building.
Siew Onn had been involved in BCA Green Built Advisory Committee and BCA-Institute of Higher Learning Built Environment Skills Future Tripartite Taskforce as Co-Chair in M&E Workgroup. Currently, he served as industry member in BCA PEP Committee reviewing innovative pilot projects funding as part of BCA’s effort to accelerate the building innovation and technologies in Singapore.
He is also the Chairman of Mechanical Taskforce for Singapore Green Building Council overseeing the development of green mechanical products to be used in construction industry. For his effort of championing sustainability in the built environment through design, construction and building integrated facility management, Siew Onn was conferred the SGBC-BCA Sustainability Leadership Green Engineer Award in 2019.
