Much of our expertise applied at building level, can also be applied to design sustainable and liveable communities. Our master-planning proposals are built on our insight into the way key parameters such as site layout, building massing, solar shading and irradiance, wind flow and vegetation, influence site energy consumption and outdoor thermal comfort.
Our initial step is to establish a platform that optimises outdoor microclimate and sustainable urban morphology from which to inform the site layout and individual building design. To achieve this we utilise a whole range of powerful design tools including Computation Fluid Dynamics (CFD), parametric and bioclimatic analysis software. We are able to quickly assess a wide set of variables that influence site wide energy performance and occupant wellbeing, establishing the optimal solution for the site.
We can also develop a site or district level strategic energy masterplan, factoring in fuel sources, site load diversity and distribution networks, followed by application of renewable energy appropriate to the location.
Building performance optimisation is about reducing energy consumption and operating costs, increasing the effectiveness and wellbeing of the staff and increasing business security by having a more resilient building. A key part in this process is reviewing the design intent and evaluating the performance of the existing buildings systems. We provide a range of services designed to fine tune and optimise energy performance and indoor environmental quality, enabling our clients to achieve more for less out of their buildings.
We offer consultancy services for a wide range of Green Building Rating systems, including Green Mark, LEED, GSAS, BREEAM and the Well Building Standard. We provide added value by advising on specific cost effective sustainable design solutions that optimise the building’s green rating. Our team is experienced in managing the entire certification process from start to finish, including coordinating production of documentary evidence to onsite final verification auditing.
